KYC Policy

Version 1.0 · Effective January 1, 2026

This KYC Policy explains how Dollars Cards verifies the identity of its customers as part of its broader AML programme.

1. Identity verification process

  1. You submit basic identity data (name, date of birth, address, contact details).
  2. You upload a government-issued identity document.
  3. You complete a live selfie verification.
  4. Our verification partner matches your selfie to the document and validates authenticity.
  5. Our compliance team reviews any manual referrals.

2. Accepted identity documents

  • International passport
  • National identity card (NIN slip / NIMC card)
  • Driver’s licence
  • Voter’s card

3. Selfie verification

Selfie verification uses liveness detection to confirm you are physically present. Screenshots, static photos or pre-recorded videos are rejected.

4. Address verification

For higher-tier limits, we may request proof of address issued within the last three months, such as a utility bill, bank statement or government correspondence.

5. Review process

Most verifications complete automatically within minutes. Manual reviews may take up to two business days. You will be notified of the outcome by email and in-app notification.

6. Reasons verification may be rejected

  • Document image is blurred, cropped or expired.
  • Selfie does not match the document photo.
  • Suspected use of another person’s identity.
  • Sanctions or PEP hit that cannot be cleared.
  • Jurisdiction restrictions.

7. Restrictions before verification

Until verification is completed, the following features may be restricted: card creation, wallet funding, conversion, withdrawals and transfers.
